General Information:

Reporting to the Borders West Operations Lead, the employee filling this position has (1) a high level of competency in the operations and maintenance of electronic and/or electrical Company equipment; and (2) an intermediate level of competency in mechanical skills.

¬ This position is:

  • Subject to random drug testing;

  • Subject to a rotating weekly on-call schedule;

  • Part of an on-call rotation and provides emergency support as required;

  • Required to reside within response time expectations as established by the hiring manager.

  • This position is represented by the IBEW Local Union #1245.¬  Filling of this position is subject to the terms and conditions of the governing collective agreement;

  • This position is subject to random drug testing.

¬ Responsibilities:

  • Without direct supervision, performs installation, testing, repair and maintenance on compressor station equipment, pipeline facilities, metering and regulating equipment, communication systems and other facilities appurtenant to the pipeline system;

  • Performs routine and major maintenance on gas turbines packages, gas compressor units and associated auxiliary equipment; competent in rigging, interpreting technical reference documents and the use of precision measuring tools;

  • Performs service and repair to mechanical measurement or control equipment such as meters regulators and valves;

  • Responsibilities include power electricity, (including hazardous area equipment) process controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electric generation equipment, microwave multiplex equipment;

  • Climb and work on the upper part of compressor buildings inside and outside;

  • Work closely with others and perform additional duties as assigned including administrative, clerical, and warehousing activities of the district. They may perform these functions apart from the crew either alone or with multiple employees engaged in a related activity;

  • Other tasks as required.


Qualifications and Education

¬ Qualifications:

  • Be qualified to perform the assigned duties with skill and efficiency.

¬ Education/Experience:

  • Qualified candidates for the position will have a minimum of a two-year college electrical degree or equivalent electrical experience.


The position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license;

  • Provide a driver's abstract for review

  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.





Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
