POSITION SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility of patient care, assures safe, competent care for patients of Bonner General Immediate Care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Genuine focus on greeting our patients and making them feel welcome and assist with the coordination of care with clinical staff
+ Provides clinical care at the direction of a licensed physician
+ Assists physicians in all phases of patient care, including medical procedures
+ Escorts patients to examination rooms and records patient history and vital signs
+ Prepares and stocks rooms daily and audits patient charts daily
+ Organizes inventory and orders medical supplies, working closely with the Materials Department
+ Provides patient education in office visits or by telephone
+ Calls in prescriptions as ordered
+ Coordinates daily tasks, working independently with consideration to time management and task completion
+ Demonstrates safe and efficient use of all clinical equipment
+ Accepts new tasks on own initiative
+ May cross-train and provide relief coverage at other outpatient facilities
+ Maintains a safe environment for patients; uses safety precautions appropriately
+ Demonstrates understanding and utilization of Standard Precautions, asepsis and infection control procedures
+ Demonstrates ability to respond quickly and effectively in an emergency situation
+ Demonstrates the ability to communicate and receive constructive feedback in a positive manner
+ Maintains strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of all patient information (HIPAA), staff, clinic and hospital confidential business
+ Responsible for establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships with all staff members
+ Age(s) of patient served and age-specific technology
+ MA?s may not perform physical exams for screening
+ MA?s may not administer IV push medications
+ MA?s may not add medication to IV solutions
CNA POSITION SUMMARY: Function in a dependent role while providing nursing care at the delegation of the provider, while working within the CNA, Scope of Practice.
CNA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Demonstrates knowledge, technical skills, and compliance with clinic policies.
+ Observes, reports to nursing staff and completes accurate and appropriate documentation on the medical record
+ Follows basic infection control principles with strict adherence to universal precautions and additional precautions as indicated by the patient?s condition.
+ Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment in the patient care areas
+ Cleans rooms and patient care equipment
+ Possesses the knowledge and ability to recognize changes in the patient?s condition that need to be reported to appropriate nursing staff.
+ Other Essential Functions as outlined in the Job Descriptions
EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program with Certification or Registered Medical Assistant Certification required, successful completion of Certified Nurse?s Aide course
LICENSE: Current State of Idaho Licensed Practical Nurse license or AAMA certificate or registry or current Idaho CNA license; Current BLS
SUPERVISED BY: Physicians and Clinic Supervisor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands of position are listed in job description
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years? experience providing support in a clinical capacity as a CMA, or CNA preferred
SKILLS: Autoclaving; Practice Management System Scheduling; Clear ? Concise Communication. Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend the written and spoken word in English; Basic computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs required
